Now You Can Purchase ANY Tick Performance Elite Series Camshaft for LS Stroker 400+ci Engines in a COMPLETE Package!

Tick Performance proudly offers our Elite Series of Camshafts designed specifically for LS Stroker 400+ci Engines! Using the latest and greatest technology available, we've put together a complete line of Camshafts that are designed to meet every goal, from mild to wild. Our Elite Series of Camshafts are all manufactured by COMP Cams or Cam Motion and are updated with a new version every time an advancement in valvetrain technology becomes available, so they're ALWAYS cutting-edge!  Although we suggest measuring for piston-to-valve clearance during ANY camshaft install, every Elite Series Camshaft is designed to fit in a stock engine & stock heads with adequate clearance unless otherwise noted. These cams are designed to maximize power, reliability and valvetrain longevity.

This Tick Performance Elite Series Camshaft Package for LS Stroker 400+ci Engines includes the following:

  • ANY Tick Performance Elite Series Camshaft for LS Stroker 400+ci (click here to view them all)
  • Tick Performance .660", .700" .750" Dual Valvespring Kit or Brian Tooley Racing .660" Dual Valvespring Kit - Your Choice
  • Tick Performance Hardened Pushrod Set - Your Choice of Length

...and although this package includes everything you NEED to upgrade during a Camshaft install, there are a few things that we HIGHLY suggest upgrading at the same time.  Since they're not required, we make them options for you to choose during checkout:

Option Guide: Valvespring Type
During checkout, you have the choice between our Tick Performance Dual Valve Spring Kit (assembled here in house using PAC valve springs and our own retainers & locators).  Choose #TP660DVSK and opt for the Titanium Retainers if you're trying to keep your valvetrain as light as possible. If your application requires higher spring pressures, we offer our TP700DVSK kit featuring PAC1207X springs or our TP750DVSK kit featuring PAC1208X springs. These kits both come standard with our Titanium retainers.

Option Guide: Valvespring Locator Type
OEM valve guides are .505” and most aftermarket cylinder heads with bronze guides are .565”. You will need to choose the locator that fits the guides in your cylinder heads.

Option Guide: Pushrod Length
No two builds are alike, so we offer you pushrod lengths ranging from 7.100” to 7.875” (Custom lengths available in .025” increments). We of course always recommend measuring your pushrod length and for an additional $10 we will hold your pushrods until you can verify and confirm what you need.

Option Guide: Pushrod Diameter & Wall Thickness
A 5/16” diameter, .080” wall thickness pushrod is standard with our kit. If you however are running a more aggressive spring kit, we do recommend the use of a 3/8” diameter, .080” wall thickness or 5/16” diameter, .105 wall thickness pushrod. Please note if you opt for 3/8” diameter pushrods and are utilizing cathedral port cylinder heads you will likely need to clearance for the larger diameter pushrods.

Option Guide: Pushrod Length Checker
Having the correct length pushrods in your engine is a critical factor in proper rocker arm geometry and these are the best tools to measure pushrod length.  During checkout, you can add a pushrod length checking tool that is precision crafted from steel alloy and black oxide for years of accurate measurements. Their unique designs are easy to read and eliminate the need for expensive calipers. Each complete revolution is equal to .050 inch.

Option Guide: Timing Chain Upgrade
While upgrading your camshaft, it's easy (and smart) to upgrade your timing chain.  The GM 12646386 is a nice budget upgrade over stock. We also offer Billet Adjustable Timing Sets from Cloyes. Simply choose the correct reluctor count (24x/1x or 58x/4x) for your engine & ECU. The only choice for serious racing—Cloyes Z-Racing billet timing sets. These track-proven billet race sets feature induction heat-treated sprockets, hand-matched with the high-strength of a heat-treated chain. Cloyes Z-chain offers 33 percent more overall strength than their premium chain, making it the most durable and dependable choice for extreme builds and racers that demand no compromise. The fine blanked links reduce stress risers, thus minimizing fractures under severe load. The press-fit center links improve load share by reducing load spikes on any single component.

Option Guide: VVT Delete Kit (GEN4 Engines ONLY)
None of our Tick Performance Elite Series Camshafts are designed to work with Variable Valve Timing (VVT), so you'll need to order this kit to install at the same time as our camshaft unless you've already deleted this system.  If you opt for a complete timing set in the previous option, we offer this kit without the GM 4x Cam gear.

Option Guide: Oil Pump Upgrade
Just like your timing chain, it's easy (and smart) to upgrade your oil pump during a camshaft upgrade.  The GM 17801830 Pump is a stock replacement unit, while the Melling 10295 or 10296 will be better depending on the application.

GM pickup tubes came with two different thickness O-rings. You will need to choose the O-ring (Included with Pump) appropriate for your application otherwise you will experience low oil pressure. Please see the application list below for proper fitment.

O-Ring Part Number #12584922 (Red or Green Color) Fits the Following Applications:

  • W- Body                     2006-2008 With LS V8 engine - Impala, Lacrosse, Grand Prix.
  • Chevy/GMC Pick-Up      1999-2000 LS V8 engines with 2nd design pick-up tube.
  • Chevy/GMC Pick-Up      2001-2008 LS V8 engines.
  • Hummer H2                 2003-2008
  • Hummer H3                 2008 With LS V8 engine.
  • Trailblazer                   2003-2008 With LS V8 engine.

O-Ring Part Number #12557752 (Blue or Black Color) Fits the Following Applications:

  • 1997-2008 Corvette
  • 1998-2002 Camaro & Firebird/Trans Am (V8)
  • 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V
  • 1999-2000 Chevy/GMC Pick-Up (LS V8 engines with 1st design pick-up tube that has O-ring locating groove.)

Option Guide: AFM / DOD Delete (GEN4 Engines ONLY)
If you're engine is equipped with the factory Active Fuel Management / Displacement on Demand (AFM / DOD) then you will need to purchase the following:

  • Lifters
  • Head Bolts or Studs
  • Head Gaskets
  • Valley Cover

Option Guide: Lifters
With any aftermarket camshaft we recommend replacing the OEM lifters. We offer several different options to suit most builds. We have taken the liberty to include new lifter trays with our drop in lifer options. If your application requires the use of higher spring pressures, we do not recommend using a drop in lifter and factory tray. If you need more information on a set of lifters, please check out the links below.

Morel 7717                       Johnson 2116LSR                          Johnson 2126LSR

Johnson 2110R                 Johnson ST2116LSR                       Johnson ST2126LSR

Morel 5290                       Morel 5294

Option Guide: Head Bolts or Head Studs
If you are planning to install a new set of lifters the OEM head bolts cannot be reused since they are Torque to Yield (TTY). We offer everything from OEM replacements to ARP2000 Head Studs for your convenience. If you are unsure of the production year of your engine you can confirm which bolts or studs you need by checking the lengths of your current bolts. A GEN 3 engine utilizes 3 different sizes bolts (The 4 corner bolts are shorter than the main bolts) and a GEN 4 engine utilizes 2 different sizes.

Option Guide: Head Gaskets
If your cylinder heads are coming off for any reason such as lifter replacement then you will need a new set of head gaskets. We offer the most popular GM options. If you are looking for something other than GM gaskets, please give our friendly sales staff a call to place your order over the phone.

Option Guide: Valley Cover
If you're engine is equipped with the factory Active Fuel Management / Displacement on Demand (AFM / DOD) then you will need to purchase one of three valley cover options. The GM truck style valley cover has no PCV provisions, the GM car style allows for PCV off the valley cover, and our Billet Valley Cover offers no PCV provisions.

Option Guide: Replacement Gaskets
If you're installing your camshaft yourself, there are a few gaskets and a bolt that should be replaced.  Our Tick Performance or GM Ca
m-swap Gasket & Bolt Kit includes a Tick or GM Timing Cover Gasket, a Tick or GM Timing Cover Seal, two Tick or GM Water Pump Gaskets and your choice GM Harmonic Balancer Bolt.

Option Guide: Valve Seal Install Tool
If you don't already have a Valve Stem Seal Install Tool in your toolbox, now is a great time to add one, and our Tick Performance Billet Valve Stem Seal Installation Tool is manufactured here in NC, USA from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. This tool makes it easy to install PTFE valve seals on any .500 or .531 in. valve guide without seal distortion or gouging!
