How much does it cost to rebuild a T56, TR-6060, or Magnum? Simply put, a Tremec T56 or TR6060 rebuild starts at $1,899.99, but depends on the vehicle application and level/horsepower rating (see options below). Here at Tick Performance rebuild pricing includes freight shipping within the central US and includes a 90 day warranty. We'll dive into what all is involved and what features you should consider in your next rebuild.
First, rebuilds include tear-down, cleaning, and inspection as well as all “soft parts,” such as gaskets, seals, and wear and tear items. All Level 1 rebuilds include upgrades over OEM, such as Bronze 1- 6 Fork Pads, Bronze Shifter Cup Bushing, and Complete Carbon Fiber Synchronizer (blocker) Ring Set.
However, if your transmission requires significant hard part replacements, like damaged gears or shafts, there may be additional charges. Tick Performance offers a great service though. There are some occasions where the transmission requires significant hard parts replacements. If the total costs are high, you can opt to put the money spent on the rebuild towards a new brand new Tremec T56/TR-6060/Magnum. This allows you to have a transmission, no matter the damage of your original transmission, without losing money.
The F-Body style T56 is the most common transmission, however, the vehicle application can change features and pricing. Here’s a quick breakdown.

Different transmissions have different features and tail housings. For instance, a GTO requires a different shifter than an F-Body. A Corvette is mounted in the rear of the car, meaning the front plate and tail housing are very different from other applications. One feature that can drastic change the pricing in a rebuild are the synchronizers or "synchros."
Double-Cone vs Triple-Cone Synchronizers
Triple-Cone synchros allow the transmission to shift smoother than the standard T56 double cone. It's an additional ring of material that enhances the shifting performance. The synchros lock the gear to the output shaft at the same speed to prevent grinding during the shift. They are not responsible for holding the trans in gear. The 97-07 Corvette, 04-07 CTS-V, 04-06 GTO, and 05-06 SSR were all equipped with triple synchros from the factory. While they help with smoother shifts the, triple-cone synchros are more expensive to replace than the standard double cone. This is something to keep in mind when looking at the cost of a rebuild for the 97-07 Corvette, 04-07 CTS-V, 04-06 GTO, and 05-06 SSR or when upgrading to a level 4-level 5 Magnum conversion.

Components/Upgrade that affect pricing
Billet Front Plate
Machined in-house, the Tick Performance Billet Front plate is ideal for high-horsepower builds looking to retain high strength and an enhanced Bung/Sprayer system. The billet front plate dramatically improves strength, which can help reduce torque deflection.
The added strength also helps improve gear mesh, which aids in wearing, enhances performance, and shifting. Often, when a transmission experiences severe internal damage, it will harm the OEM front plate, but our billet front plate greatly reduces the chance of damage.

The sprayer consisted of a machined and welded bar that extrudes into the transmission, coating 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears more evenly with oil. The Billet Front plate kit with Pump kit is $1199 when added with a rebuild.

Aftermarket Gear Set
Tick Performance has partnered with PPG to offer the strongest gear sets on the market with our industry leading transmissions. Faceplated gear sets are designed for race only applications and not recommended for street use.
Faceplated Gear Set
The faceplated gear sets include the gears, mainshaft, billet shift forks, slider assemblies, and billet interlock & bolts. The synchronized gear sets include only the gears themselves and will reuse the factory synchronizer assemblies, shift forks, mainshaft, and interlock.

Bungs & Sprayers
With this option, we install and weld bungs and spray tubes inside your transmission that will direct transmission fluid onto your input shaft and third gear teeth that are prone to failure. This kit now includes our Hi-Flow Transmission Fluid Pump Kit. This kit will require some plumbing and electrical wiring. This option adds no extra turnaround time.
Bronze Fork Pad Upgrade
The bronze material is included on every rebuild and is much stronger than the plastic that the factory pads are made out of. Includes eight pads, which is enough to upgrade every pad inside your transmission. What is special about our Bonze Pads is that they have oil valley cuts to increase lubrications to increase the longevity of the pads.
Tick Performance Billet 1-4 Shift Forks
Made in house here in North Carolina, built for those trying to get some of the best billet shift forks in the market. Designed to Improve shifting performance and feel, our billet shift forks is an optional upgrade for T-56 transmissions. The billet 7075 aluminum construction saves weight and provides one of the strongest shift forks on the market. The billet construction improves strength, while the tri-pad design greatly increases surface area on the synchronizer assembly. This allows for less deflection when changing gears, reduces stress on the shift rail assembly, improves wear pattern, and helps to create an overall better performing transmission. As of 08/04/2021 we are now offering billet shift forks for TR-6060 transmissions!
